The company was formed by David Lee in 2001 to acquire the properties of Financial Packaging Companies, a commercial real estate tax syndication firm established in 1969. Since 2001, Capstone has achieved an IRR of over 25% on its property portfolio. See some case studies below to learn more

 

Capstone Group and its predecessor have a rich history of purchasing and operating over 100 properties in more than 40 states. The firm has access to promising investment opportunities through its extensive network and has experience investing and operating most property types in all phases of the economic cycle. Additionally, Capstone's proprietary management system has historically limited the firm's downside exposure. Capstone Group's intensive and disciplined management process involves strategic capital improvements, proactive leasing, expense reduction, and asset repositioning. This approach has enabled the company to consistently maximize the cash flows and value of its properties.

In 2021, Capstone Group relocated from its New York City roots to Nashville, TN.
